Hyatt Housekeeping Manager in NEW YORK CITY, New York

Description:

The Housekeeping Manager is responsible for assisting in the oversight of the entire housekeeping area, to include public areas, guest rooms, and night cleaning. This requires a solid understanding of housekeeping operations and pars, and will assure all safety and security policies and procedures are followed. Experience with turndown service, special needs of VIP Guests, foreign dignitaries, etc. is helpful. These responsibilities may also include staff training, development and scheduling. The Housekeeping Manager will promote an atmosphere that insures customer and team member satisfaction. This position reports directly to the Director of Housekeeping and requires a strong attention to detail and the ability to effectively service guests, other departments, and team members.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  1. Minimum 2 years of previous experience as Housekeeping Manager/Supervisor in a NYC hotel.

  2. Knowledge of proper cleaning techniques including requirements and use of equipment.

  3. Knowledge of proper and safe chemical handling.

  4. Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English (speak, read, write) with both guests and co-workers.

  5. Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow-through, courtesy, cooperation, and minimum amount of supervision.

  6. Ability to maintain hotel standards, policies and procedures, and prioritize and organize work assignments, direct performance of assigned staff and follow up with corrections where needed.

  7. Ability to work a variety of varying schedules to include AM, PM, Weekends, & Holidays.

  8. Punctuality, regular and reliable attendance.

  9. Interpersonal skills and the ability to work well with co-workers and the public.

Desirable:

  1. NYC union experience.

  2. College graduate.

  3. Guest relations training.

  4. Additional language skills.
