Job Summary

The Marriott San Diego Gaslamp Quarter is looking for an experienced Kitchen Supervisor who can assist with the operations of the Kitchen and its staff. Responsible for the overall operation of food production to include, but not limited to, maintaining food quality and presentation standards, training of cooks, control of food safety and employee duties and cleaning of the kitchen area.

This position requires flexible availability to work weekdays, nights, weekends, and holidays.

This is a Full-time hourly position with a pay range of $24.15 – $28.00.

  • Ability to work cohesively with co-workers and other departments as part of a team. Ability to build morale and spirit.

  • Ability to adhere to work schedule and arrive on time in a neat and alert condition and adhere to company dress standards and enforce same standards to Hosts.

  • Ability to follow all appropriate policies and procedures while constantly striving to improve all standards of operation.

  • Ability to meet or exceed productivity and performance standards and complete tasks as assigned by manager.

  • Ability to take and give direction.

  • Ability to interact with people beyond giving and receiving instructions, particularly in resolving complaints and problems or tastings.

  • Manage overall Kitchen Operations

  • Manage Food Safety Standards

  • Manage Kitchen Staff

  • Manage and maintain training for kitchen staff.

  • Facilitate meetings and standups.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of Kitchen Supervisor experience preferred.

  • 3-5 years of Line Cook experience.

  • Able to communicate in English.
