NOTE: This position is required to be in-office five (5) days a week. This is not a hybrid or fully remote position.

The Opportunity

The Patient Therapy Access (PTA) Department currently has an opportunity for a Clinical Market Access Senior Supervisor at our location in Plano, TX . This individual will manage the day-to-day responsibilities related to assisting patients with obtaining access to Abbott devices. This team member will be responsible for internal and external education and assisting with development of Business Unit strategies that integrate prior authorization considerations. They will provide direct customer engagement to understand Prior Authorization related workflows and PTA related unmet needs, deliver Prior Authorization related education, and ensure that stakeholders understand and appropriately facilitate all aspects of PTA processes. Additionally, they will also be responsible for leveraging customer insights to assist the Clinical Nurse Manger with the implementation of product specific market access strategies through collaboration with the Business and functional partners including Health Economics and Reimbursement, Medical Affairs, and the Commercial organization. Lastly, the Clinical Market Access Senior Supervisor will be responsible for training and supervising the activities of their assigned direct reports.

What You’ll Work On

  • Design and implement market access strategies through collaboration with functional partners.

  • Manage external vendor selection process and implementation, working with Legal, OEC, HE&R to expand PTA offerings.

  • Drive process improvements in tactical and strategic planning.

  • Manage direct reports, providing guidance in maintaining caseloads, productivity, and attendance.

  • Serve as subject-matter expert, educating and mentoring PTA Team Members and Business Unit Partners.

  • Ensure all processed cases are on-label per the manufacturer indications.

  • Develop best practice for appeal processing.

  • Promote customer engagement by leading educational calls with provider offices and address customer grievances.

  • Develop coverage and assignment strategies that align with business needs.

  • Ensure departmental productivity and quality standards are upheld.

  • Conduct annual performance reviews for direct reports to evaluate their performance against their set goals.

  • Demonstrate understanding of PTA SOPs and lead by example within the department, with assigned Abbott Businesses, and with customers.

  • Provide direct support to PTA leadership.

  • Responsible for specific “over and above” duties as defined and designated by the PTA Leadership.

  • Assist with maintaining and developing approved materials for PTA.

  • Assist the PTA Team with special projects and process improvement initiatives.

  • Expected travel: 25%

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree.

  • Minimum: 5 years of satisfactory experience in a Utilization Review related role.

  • Previous supervisory position.

  • Computer proficiency in the use of basic software such as Microsoft Office.

Preferred Qualifications

  • LVN/RN Licensure preferred.

  • Previous supervisory position preferred.

  • Previous nursing or clinical experience (2 years) preferred.

  • Nursing or administrative staff experience (2 years) preferred.

  • Experience working on cross-functional teams preferred.

  • Experience managing vendors and contractors preferred.

  • Demonstrated ability to uphold compliance standards and manage related conflict.

  • Ability to motivate and positively influence direct reports and co-works toward the highest standards.

  • Demonstrates a positive attitude.

  • Detail oriented with core processes, documents, and support of all matters of policy.

  • Good public speaking skills as demonstrated in communication with customers.

  • Demonstrates ability to problem solve.

  • Demonstrates responsible stewardship of all company resources.

The base pay for this position is $72,700.00 – $145,300.00. In specific locations, the pay range may vary from the range posted.
